Staff & apprentices funding info

How are our staff funded?

Many of our staff (and all of our ministry apprentices/Bible college students) are fully or partially supported by external funding.

The two main sources of external funding for our team are:
  1. The Christians United Graduates Fund
  2. Individual financial support raising
Christians United Graduates Fund (CUGF)

As a funding body the CUGF is not on the front line gospel ministry. Instead the CUGF supports gospel work at UNE primarily by providing financial support to a growing team of staff workers on campus. Thanks to a number of generous donors the CUGF is currently supporting a range of people serving at UNE (read further down this page for details).

Individual financial support raising
Several of our staff are fully or partially funded by the financial support of generous donors, and we thank God for them!

Ministry Staff

Matt Sheridan (Senior Assistant Pastor)

Matt is mostly funded by St Mark’s, but is also partially funded by the Christians United Graduates Fund (CUGF).

Peter & Katharine Yock (Campus Staff)

Peter & Katharine are employed by the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES), and are entirely funded by individual support raising.

Fi Thomson (Assistant Pastor)

Fi is funded partially by St Mark’s, partially by the Christians United Graduates Fund (CUGF), and partially by individual support raising.

Nathan Tuckwell & Julie Cook

(Assistant Pastors)

Nathan & Julie are both employed part-time by St Mark’s, and part-time by the Armidale Diocese.

Nathan works one day a week as the Diocesan Youth Encourager alongside his role at St Mark’s, while Julie works three days a week as the Diocesan Deacon for Women alongside her role at St Mark’s.

Neither of these guys are reliant on donations, but it’s just helpful to know what’s going on 🙂

Ministry Apprentices

All of our ministry apprentices are funded by individual support raising, and supplemented by the Christians United Graduates Fund as necessary.

Ari McMaster

1st Year Ministry Apprentice

Elly Lukins

2nd Year Ministry Apprentice

Luke Mepham

2nd Year Ministry Apprentice

Petra Franklin

2nd Year MTW Apprentice (part-time)

Bible College Students

Callum Dowling (3rd Year Bible College Student)

Callum is partially funded by a bursary from the Bush Church Aid Society of Australia, and partially funded by a wage from Walcha Anglican Church (where he’s doing youth ministry two days a week)

Consequently, the Dowlings’ finances are covered – praise God! – so if you would like to support them, the best way you can do that is to pray!

Michael Stuart (1st Year Bible College Student)

Michael is entirely funded by individual support raising.
